Fight Off Your Demons

I just realized that its been a year since I genuinely cared about someone and wanted to truly be with them. Of course it was someone who couldn’t have cared less about me and made little to no effort to see me, but he always called and he always called me babe, and he couldn’t go to sleep without saying goodnight to me. Even after we stopped “seeing” eachother for three months he would still text me saying “I miss you babe.” I think the only reason I fell so hard for him was because he truly liked me for me and enjoyed my company, not my body. There was never a time I thought “he just wants to get laid” because I knew that was furthest from the truth. I miss that feeling. I don’t miss him anymore, but I truly miss the butterflies in the stomach and thinking that I had someone to share things with. Where did that feeling go?

I know that more than likely I’m just some girl you had over to keep you company in your big lonely house, but I think I could get used to it. But I know you’re just gonna blow me off again and again for months to come until one random night when you actually wanna stick to your plans. I just like being held and waking up next to someone.
